CCE helps in improving student’s performance by identifying his/her learning difficulties at regular time intervals right from the beginning of the academic session and employing suitable remedial measures for enhancing their learning performance. The scheme of continuous and comprehensive evaluation has inbuilt flexibility for schools to plan their own academic schedules as per specified guidelines on CCE. To achieve this a ‘One Day Capacity Building Programme on CCE’ was organized on 15th June 2013 at SS DAV Centenary Public School , Khunti from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. , 35 teachers attended this programme.The teachers were divided in 6 groups .Each group was assigned a topic for Group’s Presentation in the form of Role Play/ Skit / Dance Drama etc. The 6 topics selected for presentations were - Power of Social Media , Women Empowerment , Dandi March , Is IPL destroying Natural Cricket , Natural Resources of Jharkhand , Five Changes You Will Make as the Prime Minister of India .

The Training began with Social group information followed by an inspirational video. After this Training Kits and self Assessment sheets were distributed among the participants. An activity on Need Analysis was conducted for the teachers during the Introductory session .

The CCE trainer began the First Session with elaboration on Meaning and Concept of CCE and an Activity on Essentials of CCE was conducted for the Participants .

After a brief Tea-break the Second Session began with discussion on the area II A – Scholastic Assessment – with focus on the Formative assessment . Two activities – 1. Meaning & Associated Keywords and 2. Know Your Tools and design an Activity were conducted during this session. The second half of this session focused on II B – Scholastic – Summative Assessment and teachers carried out an activity for ‘Designing Summative Assessment Question Paper’ .

The Lunch break was announced at the end of the Second session . The Trainee teachers reassembled at the Workshop Hall after lunch to conduct an Open House discussion & Interactive Session followed by Group Presentations on the topics already mentioned above.

After this intervening session the Third Session started which carried out the activity – ‘Using Descriptors to Assess Co-Scholastic Areas’ for a better understanding of the areas III A – Co-Scholastic Assessment and III B – Recording & Documentation .

The concluding session comprised of part A -a presentation by the CCE Trainer on the recent Initiatives by the CBSE and part B- Feedback , distribution of certificates and medals . The Principal Mr. T.P.Jha delivered the valedictory speech .
